Data is often seen as disconnected from humans; a thing used to change the way we work with numbers and graphs but without realising how it connects to the business and its users. AI also has a bad rap, with it coming in to replace manual tasks, removing creativity and with news articles showing how bad it can be for the planet, it creates a lot of fear around AI. But what if it can be useful and it can be used for a human centric business. I will share about how data and AI can be used for use cases that can sit alongside people, support human connection and can help the planet.
Levy is a catering company that stands for people and planet. Data and AI is still relatively new in the hospitality industry and met with lots of concern, uncertainty but also with intrigue and amazement. I want to share how my team have managed to use data in a way that sits with Levy's values and still creates lots of insights, and how we are approaching AI in this space. (This talk is less technical and more around the business application of data and AI)
